Biography

Darice Bailer began her career as a sports reporter and went on to write many features for the Sunday suburban sections of The New York Times. Her first children’s book, Puffin’s Homecoming, received the Parents’ Choice Gold Award in 1993. Since then she has written more than sixty books for young readers, and some of her latest books have been Junior Library Guild selections. Darice lives in Kansas with her husband, and she loves visiting schools and sharing writing tips!
